Mark Antonello is a graduate of the Michaelis School of Fine Art and the recipient of the Irma Stern Art Award 2003 for his graduate work. In 2004 he attained his Masters in Film and Television Production at the Institute for Film and New Media at the University of Cape Town.

He has exhibited his photography at the Young Blood Gallery in Cape Town, Oude Libertas Gallery in Stellenbosch and his video art has been exhibited in group exhibitions in France and the Cape Town Month of Photography at the Castle of Good Hope.

While living in the UK and working in media he has produced online programming and directed television content for big brands such as Red Bull, Virgin Media and EMI music, as well as filming and photographing live bands and celebrities from the sphere of film and television.

Currently residing in Cape Town, South Africa, he is working on a Hasselblad portrait series called Azania Creatives. The series focuses on local established icons such as Falko One (SA Graffiti legend), Jan Hendrick van der Westhuizen (Michelin Star Chef), Shaun Tomson (World Surfing Champion) and the next generation of creative individuals whose projects give back to various communities in South Africa and the continent through creativity.

Mark Antonello is also the Subject Head of Photography and lecturers in Photography at Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography.
